A significant TB screening campaign was recently conducted at the Garhani Community Health Center (CHC) in Bhojpur district. Under this initiative, a total of 2100 people were screened with the aim of early detection and treatment of tuberculosis (TB) cases in the region. This effort is part of the National TB Elimination Program, which targets making India TB-free by 2025.

According to health center officials, a large number of local residents participated in the screening camp. During the drive, people were also educated about TB symptoms, prevention methods, and the availability of treatment. Health workers specifically encouraged individuals exhibiting common symptoms like cough, fever, weight loss, and night sweats to get tested. For those showing symptoms suggestive of TB, sputum samples were collected for further laboratory confirmation.

The Medical Officer In-charge of the Community Health Center stated that such screening campaigns play a crucial role in detecting hidden TB cases in rural areas. He emphasized that TB is an infectious disease, but it is completely curable if detected on time and the patient completes the full course of medication. He appealed to everyone not to ignore any symptoms and to get tested immediately at the nearest health center.

This campaign reflects the government's commitment to extending health services to the grassroots level and providing better healthcare facilities to all citizens. Further such camps are planned in the future to achieve the goal of a TB-free Bihar.
