In a significant operation at the Dobhi checkpost in Gaya district, the Excise Department seized a large quantity of illicit liquor from a Scorpio vehicle. A total of 252 liters of illegal alcohol were recovered from the vehicle. During the operation, one smuggler involved in the illicit trade was also arrested on the spot. The Excise Department acted on a tip-off, conducting an intensive search operation at the checkpost.

Officials stated that the seized liquor comprised various brands and was being smuggled into Bihar from Jharkhand. With prohibition enforced in Bihar, liquor smugglers have been continuously attempting to bring consignments into the state through various means. The Dobhi checkpost, located on the Bihar-Jharkhand border, has become a key route for liquor smuggling. The Excise Department and police administration are maintaining strict vigilance on this route to prevent the entry of illegal liquor consignments.

Interrogation of the arrested smuggler is underway to uncover the entire network and identify other individuals involved. The Excise Department has affirmed its commitment to continuing its campaign against liquor smuggling and will not allow the illegal liquor business to thrive. Such continuous actions demonstrate the administration's resolve to effectively implement prohibition. The seized liquor and vehicle have been handed over to the concerned police station for further legal proceedings.
