The Forest Department in Rohtas district has arrested three poachers on Kaimur Hill, seizing a country-made rifle, approximately 30 kg of wildlife meat, and a Honda Livo motorcycle. The arrests were made on Saturday morning near the Rehal Check Naka following a tip-off.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Nitish Oraon and Karan Oraon, residents of Lauri village, and Vinod Oraon, a resident of Jemardag village. According to forest officials, the three accused were transporting the hunted wildlife meat on their motorcycle towards Rehal when they were intercepted by forest guards Aditya Priyadarshi, Ujjwal Singh, and Ankur Singh, who were stationed at the check naka.

Following their arrest, the poachers were brought to the Rohtas Range Office along with the confiscated items and meat. An FIR is being lodged under the Arms Act at Nauhatta Police Station regarding the seized country-made rifle.

DFO Stalin Fidel Kumar stated that National Wildlife Week is currently being observed, during which special vigilance is being maintained in the Kaimur Hill forests. Departmental patrols have been intensified to prevent illegal poaching, and suspicious individuals are being closely monitored. Strict action is being taken against the arrested individuals under the Wildlife Protection Act.
