In a significant operation, the Excise Department seized 300 cartons of foreign liquor at the Chitrkoli Integrated Check Post in the Rajauli police station area of Nawada district. The liquor was being smuggled in a mini-truck (407), cleverly concealed amidst water bottles.

Excise Superintendent Ganesh Chandra stated that a continuous inspection drive is underway at the Bihar-Jharkhand border to enforce prohibition effectively. On Friday night, information was received about a large consignment of liquor being transported from Jharkhand into Bihar. Acting on this tip-off, a thorough search operation was launched at the Chitrkoli check post. During the inspection, a mini-truck (407) covered with a tarpaulin was intercepted. Upon searching, it was discovered that the liquor cartons were placed in the middle and surrounded by sealed water bottles to avoid suspicion.

The search revealed 300 cartons of Officer's Choice brand foreign liquor in fruity packs. The arrested driver has been identified as Sameer Kumar alias Sonu, a resident of Amarpur village under Ruhui police station in Nalanda district. During interrogation, he disclosed that he was transporting the liquor from Koderma in Jharkhand to Biharsharif.

Excise Superintendent Chandra confirmed that an FIR has been registered against the seized liquor, the mini-truck, and the arrested driver under the Bihar Prohibition and Excise Act. Following a medical examination, the accused was sent to judicial custody on Saturday. Home guard personnel also assisted the excise forces during the operation.
