The All India Students Association (AISA) staged a strong protest on Saturday at Kachari Chowk in Saharsa against the central government and the Election Commission. AISA activists demanded the immediate dismissal of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. They also vehemently protested the arrest of CPI-ML General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya, Yogendra Yadav, and other leaders including Neha.

During the demonstration, activists burnt effigies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Chief Election Commissioner, raising slogans against them. The protest was led by AISA District President Ashish Anand. Kundan Yadav, a national council member of RYA, questioned the 'SIR' (SIR) process, alleging that it is being used to suppress democratic rights.

AISA has demanded an immediate halt to the SIR process and the re-inclusion of all valid names removed from the voter list. Additionally, the organization called for the abolition of the current system of appointing Election Commissioners and the re-inclusion of the Chief Justice of India (CJI) in the selection committee.
