In Gopalpur village, under Pariahari Panchayat in Raniganj block of Araria district, Bihar, a 21-foot-tall effigy of Ravana will be burnt on Tuesday evening. Thousands of devotees and villagers from dozens of surrounding villages are expected to gather to witness this historic and cultural event. The district and police administration teams have set up camp at the venue to ensure the peaceful and safe completion of the event.

This Ravana Dahan program is not just a religious ritual but also a prime example of the unwavering unity, faith, and hard work of the local villagers. Local residents of the village worked day and night for about 15 days to construct this gigantic effigy. Young and old villagers collaborated to make this construction and the entire event historical. Members of the organizing committee, including Rajesh Kumar, Mukhiya Dayanand Ram, ex-serviceman Manohar Manmohan, Dinesh Singh, and Akhilesh Yadav, along with all villagers, are actively involved in making the event a success. Villagers state that, like every year, this Ravana Dahan program has become a topic of discussion throughout the area.

Given the sensitivity of the event and the anticipated large crowd, the Araria district administration is fully alert. Before the Ravana Dahan on Tuesday, a team of high-ranking administrative officials, including Araria SDM Shwetam Dixit, SDPO Sushil Kumar Singh, DSP Satish Kumar Singh, and Police Inspector cum Raniganj Station House Officer Dharmendra Kumar, arrived at the event site in Gopalpur village. The officials thoroughly inspected the ground and stage, issuing strict instructions to junior officers and organizing committee members regarding security arrangements. They appealed to the committee members to conduct this religious event with discipline and mutual harmony.

Extensive security arrangements have been made at the venue to handle any potential emergency during the Ravana Dahan. Magistrates have been appointed, and a large number of police forces have been deployed to maintain law and order. Additionally, fire brigade vehicles, trained medical teams, and ambulances have been put on alert to prevent any untoward incidents. SDM Shwetam Dixit stated that all necessary resources for crowd control and emergency facilities have been made available on site. Raniganj SHO Dharmendra Kumar affirmed that he is personally monitoring the security arrangements at the entire venue to ensure that common people and devotees face no inconvenience and that the Ravana Dahan festival concludes peacefully.
