A panchayat meeting called to resolve a land dispute in Araria district, Bihar, turned violent when the husband of the current Panchayat Chief, Mohammad Mustaqim, was attacked with a sharp weapon. The incident occurred in Dagrahwa Panchayat, under the Palasi block of Araria. Mustaqim, who is also the representative of the Panchayat Chief, sustained serious injuries to his hand during the assault.

Following the attack, Mustaqim was rushed to a local hospital for immediate treatment. After receiving first aid, he was referred for further medical care due to the severity of his injuries. According to reports, tensions flared during the land dispute resolution meeting, leading to some individuals becoming agitated and assaulting Mustaqim. The attackers fled the scene after intervention from local residents.

The incident has created a tense atmosphere in the area. Local police have been informed and are currently investigating the matter. This attack comes just ten days after another murder in the district, raising concerns about law and order in the region. Villagers have expressed outrage over the assault on their representative, emphasizing that such incidents highlight a deteriorating security situation.
