A woman in Arrah, Bhojpur, allegedly died by suicide after consuming poison following an argument with her stepdaughter. The deceased has been identified as Sanjana Srivastava (25), wife of Abhishek Srivastava, a resident of Mahajan Toli, currently residing in a rented accommodation in Sapna Cinema Mohalla. The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Town Police Station.

According to Sanjana's father, Gaurishankar Lal, Sanjana's first marriage took place in 2018 in Sandesh village, from which she had a son, Kartik Raj. However, she later divorced her first husband. On June 21st of this year, she married Abhishek Srivastava for the second time at Vishwakarma Mandir in Gausganj. Abhishek also has a daughter, Lali, from his first marriage.

Gaurishankar Lal stated that shortly after the second marriage, Sanjana and her stepdaughter frequently argued over minor issues, causing Sanjana significant mental stress. It is believed that due to this stress, she consumed poison. Her condition became critical, and she was admitted to Sadar Hospital, from where she was referred to Patna after initial treatment. Although her family took her to a private hospital on Bypass Road, she could not be saved.

Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the hospital, took the body into custody, and brought it to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. However, the family submitted a written application stating they did not wish for any legal action, after which the police handed over the body for cremation. The incident has caused immense grief in the deceased's family.
