For the past five months, Bahadurpur Road in the railway station market area of Athmalgola block, Patna district, has been severely affected by waterlogging. This persistent issue has significantly impacted local businesses, with customers avoiding the market. There is also a constant risk of schoolchildren and elderly people slipping and getting injured on the waterlogged road.

Dr. Siyaram Singh, the MLA from Barh, has written to the Chief Engineer of the Rural Works Department, Patna, requesting the construction of three important roads. These include the road from Athmalgola Station to Bahadurpur Yadav Tola, NH-31 to Budhra Dariyapur, and Phulelpur Village to the Fourlane.

Rajeev Ranjan Sharma alias Mantoo Sharma, District President of Barh JDU Ati Pichda Prakoshth, along with local residents, has specifically demanded the construction of a proper drainage system alongside the road from Athmalgola Station to Bahadurpur Yadav Tola. They emphasize that this area is not only a major market but also a densely populated locality. Sharma stated that the lack of a paved drain along the road causes household wastewater to spill onto the street, creating significant inconvenience for residents and commuters. He also mentioned that correspondence regarding the drain construction had been sent to the MLA previously. Local residents plan to submit a detailed memorandum to the MLA, reiterating their demand for a road with proper drainage.
