In an act of arson, miscreants set fire to a car and a tractor parked outside a house in Bandua village, under the Kutumba police station area of Aurangabad district, late on Thursday night. The incident resulted in Shankar Paswan's Eeco van car and his cousin Ramji Paswan's tractor being completely destroyed. The incident is reported to have occurred shortly after 12:30 AM.

Shankar Paswan recounted that smoke suddenly filled their house during the night, waking the women sleeping inside. Upon venturing outside, family members discovered their car engulfed in flames near the entrance, and a tractor belonging to his cousin, parked nearby, also burning. Witnessing the intensity of the fire, the family immediately started a motor to douse the flames and informed the Kutumba police station.

Responding to the call, the police arrived at the scene, inspected the site, gathered information from the family, and investigated the surrounding circumstances. The fire was so fierce that both vehicles were quickly damaged beyond repair. However, the timely awakening of the family and their efforts to extinguish the fire prevented it from spreading to nearby homes. The incident has created an atmosphere of fear and anger in the village.

Shankar Paswan stated that he purchased the car in 2024 and used it to support his family. He denied any disputes or enmities with anyone in the village. The motive and perpetrators behind the arson remain unclear. Kutumba Station House Officer Imran Alam confirmed receiving information about the two vehicles being set ablaze and stated that an investigation is underway. No written complaint has been filed by any party yet; further action will be taken once an application is received.
