In a shocking incident in Aurangabad district, Bimal Kumar, the Executive Officer of Dehri Nagar Parishad, was stabbed to death in the Barun police station area. The incident occurred on Saturday night near Lakh Dihra village while Kumar was returning to Patna from Dehri.

According to reports, Bimal Kumar had attended the 'Ek Shaam Shaheedon Ke Naam' program in Dehri and was en route to Patna in his Scorpio around 9 PM, accompanied only by his driver, Mithilesh Kumar. On the Barun-Daudnagar canal road, near Lakh Dihra village within the Barun police station limits, their vehicle was intercepted by miscreants. It is suspected that the assailants intended to loot them and attacked Kumar with a knife when he resisted. The perpetrators fled the scene after the crime.

Following the incident, driver Mithilesh Kumar informed the Nagar Parishad office staff via mobile. Upon receiving the information, the Chairman and Councillors of Dehri Nagar Parishad, along with local police, rushed to the spot. Seriously injured Bimal Kumar was immediately taken to Narayana Medical College Hospital, Jamuhar (Sasaram), where doctors declared him dead.

Upon learning of the incident, SP Upendra Nath Verma, Rohtas DM Deepak Mishra, and SP Roshan Kumar, among other officials, reached Jamuhar Medical College Hospital to gather information. Police are rigorously questioning driver Mithilesh Kumar, as he sustained no injuries and reportedly fled the scene, leaving the Executive Officer. Sadar SDPO One Sushil Kumar stated that a thorough investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the murder and identify the culprits. Aurangabad Red Cross Chairman Satish Kumar Singh confirmed that multiple stab wounds were found on Bimal Kumar's body.
