Residents of Kutumba block in Aurangabad district can soon expect improved healthcare facilities as the new building for Kutumba Referral Hospital is almost complete. The health department is now awaiting the formal handover of the building and the relocation of the hospital from its old, dilapidated structure to the new one. However, there is no clear information yet on when the building will be fully handed over to the department or when operations will commence from the new facility.

According to sources, the possibility of shifting the referral hospital to the new building was also raised about three months ago. At that time, some unfinished work in the newly constructed building prevented the relocation. Now, the construction work is in its final stages, with most tasks completed. Despite this, the inauguration date and the hospital's relocation date have not yet been finalized.

The old hospital building is in a very dilapidated condition, causing numerous problems for patients and their families who visit daily for treatment. The new building is expected to offer ample space, better facilities, and a more organized environment. Local residents express concern that if the hospital is not promptly moved to the new building despite its completion, ordinary patients will not benefit from it.

There are conflicting claims regarding the handover between the construction agency and the health department. Personnel from Somya Construction, Patna, the agency involved in the construction, state that the newly built referral hospital has been handed over to the District Project Manager. Conversely, Medical Officer Dr. Naval Kishore Singh and Health Manager Deepak Kumar claim they have not yet received full information about the completion of the building's construction. According to them, further action regarding the hospital's shift to the new building will only be taken after the formal handover process to the department is completed.

Local residents have urged the health department to promptly inspect the building, complete the handover process, and relocate the referral hospital to the new premises. They emphasize that delays in inauguration and shifting should end, and health services should begin from the new building to ensure that block residents receive the actual benefits of improved healthcare facilities.
