Aurangabad district is on high alert, specifically a red alert, for potential floods on July 20 and 21. The district administration has made extensive preparations to tackle this situation, and an alert has been issued across all blocks. The District Magistrate (DM) has instructed all concerned officials to remain vigilant 24 hours a day and be prepared to handle any emergency.

According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Department, heavy rainfall is expected in Aurangabad and surrounding areas on these two days, which could lead to a rise in river water levels and create a flood risk in low-lying areas. In response, the DM chaired a high-level meeting attended by all circle officers, block development officers, and heads of other relevant departments.

During the meeting, the DM gave clear instructions to identify flood relief camps in all blocks and ensure the availability of essential supplies such as drinking water, food, medicines, and first-aid kits. She also emphasized activating disaster management teams and providing them with necessary equipment. Additionally, arrangements for boats and plans for evacuating people to safe locations were discussed.

Residents living near riverbanks have been advised to be especially vigilant and follow instructions issued by the administration. Families in low-lying areas have been asked to be ready to move to safer places. The DM also directed that communication systems remain smooth for immediate information exchange.

The district control room has been instructed to remain active 24 hours a day and report any incidents immediately. The administration has appealed to the public not to panic but to exercise caution and contact the district control room for any assistance or information.
