The North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (NBPDCL) team conducted a major operation against electricity theft in Babubarhi block, Madhubani district. Led by Junior Engineer Nand Kishore Kumar, the team apprehended three individuals red-handed while stealing electricity during a raid. The department has imposed a total fine of Rs 57,914 on the three accused and has filed an application with the police to register an FIR against them.

The action was taken in Bairiya village, where Vishnu Sada and Dilip Sada were found using electricity in their homes by illegally hooking into the LT line. Both were fined Rs 9,910 each. The third incident occurred in Khojpur village (Ward 11) at Mithun Kumar's non-domestic premises. Here, electricity was being stolen by bypassing the meter and directly connecting to the main service wire of the LT line, resulting in a revenue loss of Rs 38,094 for the department.

The raiding team also included Assistant Engineers Sanjeet Kumar, Deepak Kumar, and Mohd. Irfan. In addition to imposing the total fine of Rs 57,914 on all accused, the electricity department also confiscated the service wires involved. Junior Engineer Nand Kishore Kumar stated that this campaign against electricity theft would continue to prevent further revenue losses.
