An FIR has been lodged against two panchayat teachers in Bagaha, Bihar, for allegedly securing government jobs using fake certificates. A probe by the Vigilance Investigation Bureau revealed that their Madhyama and training certificates were fraudulent. Following the registration of the FIR, both teachers are reportedly absconding from their homes, and the police are actively searching for them and investigating the case.

The case involves Rajesh Prasad Yadav, a panchayat teacher at Rajkiya Prathmik Vidyalaya Navka Tola, Badgaon, and Shanti Mishra, a panchayat teacher at Rajkiya Madhyamik Vidyalaya Badgaon, both located in Bagaha-1 block. They are accused of obtaining employment using forged Madhyama (Sanskrit) mark sheets and training certificates. The Vigilance Investigation Bureau had sent their certificates to the Bihar Sanskrit Education Board, Patna, for verification. On August 3, 2023, the Board confirmed that the mark sheets were not issued by them and were indeed fake.

Subsequently, the Bureau instructed the police to file an FIR against the duo. It is alleged that these teachers presented the counterfeit certificates as genuine during their recruitment in 2005 and 2006. Block Education Officer Pooran Kumar Sharma stated that the Vigilance Investigation Bureau registered the FIR at Nagar Police Station after the certificate verification. He added that departmental proceedings are underway alongside the police investigation. The disappearance of the teachers post-FIR has become a talking point in the area, with police thoroughly examining all aspects of the case.
