For several days, the Baki-Bahdura main road in Buxar district has been severely affected by waterlogging, creating significant difficulties for local residents and commuters. Water has accumulated up to knee-level, making it challenging for vehicles to pass and impossible for pedestrians. This persistent waterlogging has deteriorated the road, leading to potholes that pose a serious risk of accidents.

Local residents report that the stagnant water has caused a pervasive foul odor throughout the area, making it difficult to breathe. This stench has spread to nearby homes and shops, causing continuous distress. The unsanitary conditions and odor have also led to a surge in mosquito populations, raising concerns about the potential spread of diseases like malaria, dengue, and chikungunya. This situation is particularly alarming for children and the elderly.

Residents have urged the administration to address this issue promptly, stating that despite numerous complaints, no concrete action has been taken. The mud and filth from the stagnant water increase the risk of infectious diseases. School children and daily wage laborers are among the most affected, forced to take longer alternative routes or wade through the contaminated water.

The community has warned that if the problem is not resolved soon, they will be compelled to protest. They demand proper drainage and cleaning of the area to prevent future occurrences. This is not just a traffic issue but a public health concern that requires immediate attention.
