Balha village in Buxar district is currently grappling with severe waterlogging, affecting approximately 50 families. The main roads and alleys of the village are inundated, causing immense difficulties for residents to commute. This situation has persisted for several days, leading to growing resentment among the locals due to the administration's indifference.

Villagers report that due to the lack of proper drainage, even light rainfall leads to water accumulation in the village. It has become challenging to leave homes, children face difficulties reaching school, and daily activities are disrupted. The most alarming aspect is the accumulation of filth and garbage in the stagnant water, leading to foul odors and an increased risk of infectious diseases.

Local resident Ramphal Mahto stated that his house is constantly surrounded by water due to the waterlogging. "Our lives have become hellish. We have complained to the administration multiple times, but there's no response," he said. Another resident, Sita Devi, expressed fear for her children's health as mosquitoes and other insects are breeding in the stagnant water.

Health experts warn that such waterlogged areas can see an increase in dengue, malaria, diarrhea, and skin-related diseases. The decaying waste in the water poses a risk of spreading bacteria and viruses. Villagers have urged the district administration to intervene immediately and establish a permanent drainage system to alleviate this problem and allow them to live a healthy life. If this issue is not resolved soon, the situation could worsen significantly.
