The Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) has released its first official list of 57 probable players for the fitness and skill camp of the Bihar Senior Men's Ranji Trophy team for the 2026-27 domestic season. The shortlist sees a strong dominance of young cricketers from the Anga and Kosi-Seemanchal regions. Five players from Katihar, three from Banka, two from Bhagalpur, and one each from Araria, Purnia, and Supaul have secured their spots in this prestigious camp.

As per BCA directives, all 57 selected players must report with their original documents at the BCA office in Patna by 10:00 AM on August 21, 2026. After document verification under BCCI ODMS rules, eligible players will be sent to Moin-ul-Haq Stadium, Patna, where the fitness and skill camp will officially begin on August 22.

Katihar district boasts five promising cricketers: Ashwini Kumar (batsman), Ankit Singh (opening batsman), Khalid Alam (all-rounder), Ayush Kumar, and Harsh Nanda (both medium-fast bowlers). From Banka, Puneet Yadav (wicketkeeper/batsman), Raghavendra Pratap (all-rounder), and Himanshu Singh (leg-spinner) have been selected. Bhagalpur sees batsman Basukinath and leg-spinner Bhanu Kumar make the cut. All-rounder Aman Raj (off-break) from Araria and wicketkeeper/batsman Shraman Nigrodh from Purnia are also included. From Supaul, left-arm medium-fast bowler Md. Izhar has been shortlisted.

Meanwhile, women cricketer Rajlakshmi, a resident of Saraigarh panchayat in Saraigarh-Bhaptiyahi block of Supaul district, has excelled in both academics and sports. She secured the second position overall in the first batch (2025-26 session) of the 'Post Graduate Diploma in Sports Coaching (Cricket)' at Bihar Sports University (Rajgir). Rajlakshmi is the daughter of senior journalist Balram Prasad Singh and national award-winning teacher Babita Kumari. She is a registered player of the Supaul District Cricket Association and has represented the state in BCCI-organized U-19, U-23, and Senior Women's tournaments.
