The condition of the road on the Zeromile Overbridge, located on NH-28 in Begusarai, has deteriorated significantly due to recent rains. Deep potholes on the overbridge, especially on the route leading from Zeromile to Muzaffarpur, have become a serious hazard for commuters. During heavy rainfall on Friday evening, these potholes were filled with water, making it impossible for drivers to gauge their depth. As a result, a goods cart (chakda) lost control and overturned, sustaining considerable damage. Several motorcyclists have also fallen and been injured due to these same potholes.

Local residents report that the water-filled potholes are concealed, preventing vehicle operators from assessing their depth. Given the high speed of vehicles on the overbridge, these potholes pose a constant threat of major accidents. Residents allege that the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has not yet addressed this critical issue nor taken any steps to repair the road. The public and commuters have urged the administration to promptly fill these potholes and improve safety measures on the overbridge to prevent future major accidents.
