Sitamadhi: Premises linked to Belsand Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) MLA Amit Kumar Ranu in Muzaffarpur and Sitamarhi were raided by police on Sunday, causing a stir in political and criminal circles throughout the day. The raids are connected to an ongoing investigation into a land dispute and related allegations.

In Muzaffarpur, a police team arrived at the MLA's residence around 6 AM and conducted a search for several hours based on a court search warrant. A large police contingent, led by three DSPs, participated in the operation. During the search, stamp papers, land-related documents, and papers pertaining to a construction company were recovered. This action stems from a land dispute case in the Ahiyapur police station area, where allegations include the demolition of a boundary and construction on disputed land using a JCB. The investigation has also implicated the MLA's brother, Sonu Singh, who is currently being sought.

Simultaneously, the MLA's office at Kothi Chowk in Belsand, Sitamarhi, was also raided. DSP Ravishankar Prasad stated that two weapons were recovered during this operation, and two suspected youths have been detained for questioning. SSP Kantesh Kumar Mishra informed that the investigation has revealed the involvement of the MLA's brother Sonu, and MLA Amit Kumar Ranu's role has also been found suspicious. Police are taking action to arrest the absconding brother. The SSP also added that the police are preparing to seize the properties of land mafias and will send a letter to the Economic Offenses Unit (EOU) for this purpose.

MLA Amit Kumar Ranu has vehemently denied all allegations, stating that the land in question belongs to an IT cell worker of his party. He alleged that the police called both parties to the station under the pretext of showing documents and later sent them to jail. The MLA has demanded an impartial investigation into the matter.
