A 35-year-old married woman, Gudia Devi, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in a rented house in Prakashnagar, Ward No. 11, Narkatiaganj Nagar, Bettiah. Her maternal family has accused her husband, Ashish Jaiswal alias Siku, and other in-laws of strangling her to death. The police have initiated an investigation into the matter.

Gudia Devi, wife of Ashish Jaiswal from Ward No. 1, was residing with her 11-year-old son in a rented accommodation in Prakashnagar, Ward No. 11. Her mother, Anjana Devi, frequently visited her. According to family members, on the night of the incident, Gudia's son and her maternal grandmother, Anjana Devi, had gone to their home on Sugar Mill Road, leaving Gudia alone in the rented house. Her maternal family alleges that her husband arrived at the house that night, after which Gudia died. However, the police have not yet confirmed the husband's presence or his involvement in the alleged murder.

Gudia's mother, Anjana Devi, and sister, Varsha Devi, informed the police that Gudia had an argument with her husband about four days prior to her death. Gudia had informed her maternal family about this dispute. The family claims that her suspicious death occurred just a few days after this altercation.

Upon receiving the information, Shikarpur police reached the scene and commenced their investigation. Gudia's mother and sister are distraught over her death. The maternal family has demanded a fair investigation and strict action against those responsible. SDPO Prasanna MV stated that the police are investigating every aspect of the case, and further details regarding the incident and those involved will emerge after the completion of the investigation.
