In a stern move, the education department in Bettiah district has taken strict action against a teacher for failing to hand over the charge of acting headmistress. DPO Akhil Vaibhav has immediately withheld the salary of Kumari Amrita Singh, a teacher at Middle School Jaitia in Chanpatia block, citing defiance of orders. She has also been given a strict directive to hand over the charge within two days and submit a written explanation.

According to departmental orders, senior special teacher Anita Pandey was assigned the academic, PM Poshan, and financial charge of the acting headmistress. Kumari Amrita Singh, the then acting headmistress, was instructed to hand over the complete charge within 24 hours. Despite this, she failed to comply. The Block Education Officer, Chanpatia, had also sent her several reminders, but the teacher did not follow the instructions. The education department has taken this negligence seriously and decided to withhold her salary to ensure compliance with departmental directives.
