A major anti-encroachment drive was carried out in Bhagalpur city by a joint team from the Municipal Corporation and the Circle Office. Bulldozers were deployed to clear illegal occupations in various parts of the city. Several huts were demolished during the operation, and nine individuals were given a 48-hour ultimatum to remove their encroachments voluntarily.

Officials stated that this action is part of an ongoing campaign to make the city encroachment-free. Public land and roads have long been illegally occupied, leading to traffic congestion and hindering urban development. The administration had previously issued multiple notices to encroachers, but with non-compliance, this stringent step was deemed necessary.

During the drive, a significant police force was deployed to prevent any untoward incidents. While some encroachers attempted to resist, their efforts were thwarted by the administration's firm stance. Officials made it clear that those who fail to remove their encroachments within the given deadline will face legal action, and their illegal structures will be forcibly removed by the administration, with the costs recovered from them.
