Bhanu Kumar of Bhagalpur has consistently delivered excellent performances in domestic cricket with his accurate leg-spin bowling. Based on his continuous practice and outstanding play, selectors have chosen him for the final selection trials of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. According to sports experts, being shortlisted for the final trial is a crucial milestone in Bhanu's career. He now faces the challenge of performing exceptionally well in the trials to secure a place in Bihar's final team. Fellow cricketer Amardeep Shukla 'Natwar' extended his wishes to Bhanu, hoping for his success in the Bihar team.

This is also a historic moment for the Araria District Cricket Association and District Cricket Academy, as four players from the district have been selected for state-level trials. Yakshendra Kumar has been selected for the Under-16 State Trial, while Shravan Kumar Rishu, Uttam Kumar, and Aman Raj have been chosen for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy State Trial. Aman Raj is an aggressive right-handed batsman and off-spin bowler, who, along with Shivam Jha, previously represented the Bihar Under-19 State Cricket Team in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy. In related news, three talented female fencers from Bhagalpur have been selected for the Bihar State Fencing Competition, to be held at Khel Bhawan in Patna from November 11 to 13, 2026. Iti Swara from Carmel School was selected for the Épée event in the sub-junior category. In the junior category, Aarshi Anand and Shruti Priya from Khel Bhawan Fencing Academy will showcase their skills in the Sabre event. Aarshi Anand also secured a spot in the senior category Sabre event, meaning Bhagalpur's three female athletes will represent the district in four events.
