Bharat Taxi Service to Launch in Bihar by End of November, Starting from Patna, Gaya, Vaishali, and Muzaffarpur
Bharat Taxi service is set to launch in Bihar by the end of November, offering a new transportation option for both passengers and drivers. The initial phase will cover Patna, Gaya, Vaishali, and Muzaffarpur. Over 2,005 drivers have already registered with the platform, and the customer app has successfully completed its testing.
A review meeting, chaired by Transport Secretary Raj Kumar, was held on Monday at Vishweshwaraiya Bhawan to assess the preparations for the proposed launch. Discussions focused on vehicle and driver registration, permit compliance, the IT platform, and promotional strategies. The Secretary highlighted that this service would provide a new and improved transport alternative, fostering transparency and technology-driven facilities within the existing taxi ecosystem.
A key feature of Bharat Taxi is its consistent fare structure, which will remain unchanged regardless of rain, peak hours, or traffic congestion. No surge pricing will be applied, and fares will be determined transparently. The service will also offer 24x7 customer support.
Colonel Himanshu, CEO of Bharat Taxi, explained that the service operates on a 'Sarathi-Malik Model,' allowing drivers to become owners of the cooperative society and have representation on the management board. The service will include cars, auto-rickshaws, and bikes. Drivers will not be charged any commission, reducing their dependence on private companies and ensuring they retain the full earnings from each ride. All profits from the cooperative society will also be distributed among the drivers.
