Bihar is rapidly accelerating the implementation of flood management and water resource projects. The state government has initiated work on several schemes on a war footing to mitigate potential flood risks before and during the monsoon season, and to ensure optimal utilization of water resources. The primary objective of these projects is to protect vulnerable areas of the state from the devastating effects of floods and to provide adequate irrigation facilities for farmers.
