A tragic accident in Chainpur village, under Bhagwanganj police station in Masaurhi block, Patna district, resulted in the on-the-spot death of a couple, Narendra Kumar (37) and Ruby Devi (33), on Friday. The couple was irrigating their flower field when they were suddenly electrocuted.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Bhagwanganj SHO Amarendra Kumar arrived at the scene with a police team. The police sent the bodies for post-mortem to Patna and have initiated an investigation into the circumstances of the electrocution. The village is engulfed in grief, as this family has faced similar tragedies before. Approximately two years ago, their 14-year-old son, Bittu Kumar, drowned while bathing in the Morhar River dam in the Bhagwanganj area. Villagers allege that despite their son's death, the family has yet to receive the promised compensation.

Now, with the demise of both parents, their two young children, aged approximately 12 and 14, have been orphaned. Villagers are deeply concerned about the children's upbringing and future. They have appealed to the government and district administration to provide immediate financial assistance and due compensation to the affected family, ensuring the children's education and future are secured. Villagers have urged the administration to intervene sensitively in this matter.
