The Bihar Technical Service Commission (BTSC) has released an advertisement for the recruitment of 231 Fishery Extension Officers under the Bihar Government's Dairy, Fisheries, and Animal Resources Department. The primary role of officers appointed to this post will be related to fish farming. Applicants must hold a four-year bachelor's degree in Fishery Science from a college of fisheries under an agricultural university recognized by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi. The age limit is set at a minimum of 21 years and a maximum of 37 years (with relaxations for reserved categories), calculated based on the 10th-grade certificate.

The selection process will include both a written examination and experience, with weightages of 75 and 25 marks, respectively. The written exam will be computer-based, comprising 100 multiple-choice questions. Each correct answer will fetch 1 mark, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer. Experience marks will be awarded for work performed on a similar contractual post within the Bihar Government or non-private institutions located within the state. Only candidates who qualify the written examination will be eligible for experience benefits.
