Non-aided teachers in Bihar have once again launched a major protest, their tenth such movement, demanding the abolition of the non-aided education policy and the provision of salaries and pensions. The teachers staged a demonstration in Patna and submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister. They argue that the current policy leaves their future uncertain and financially vulnerable.

For the past ten years, these teachers have consistently agitated for their demands, yet a permanent solution to their problems remains elusive. In this latest protest, the teachers have unequivocally stated that their struggle will continue until their demands are met. Their key demands include the complete scrapping of the non-aided education policy, providing salaries and pensions to teachers and staff of all non-aided educational institutions on par with government employees, and improving their service conditions.

The teachers contend that despite their crucial role in imparting quality education, they are denied fair remuneration and social security. They highlighted that thousands of teachers and their families face severe economic hardship due to the non-aided policy. During the demonstration, teachers chanted anti-government slogans and displayed strong unity. They warned that if the government fails to address their demands promptly, they will intensify their movement and escalate protests. This ongoing movement has become a significant issue in the education sector, exerting pressure on the state government for policy reforms.
