In various villages of Bikram block in Patna district, 11000-volt high-tension power lines are passing directly over residential houses, causing widespread fear and posing a significant threat to life for local residents. This issue has persisted for several years without any substantial action from the electricity department.

Residents in areas like Salempur, Gonpura, and surrounding villages within Bikram report that power poles are either too close to homes or the wires run directly above them. The constant fear of these wires snapping during strong winds or heavy rain is a major concern. Locals recount instances of sparks flying and wires breaking, narrowly averting major accidents. This situation is particularly dangerous for children and the elderly.

Villagers claim to have repeatedly complained to electricity department officials, demanding the relocation or undergrounding of these hazardous wires. However, they have only received assurances, with the problem remaining unresolved. They urge the electricity department to address this serious issue immediately by moving these life-threatening wires away from populated areas or safely burying them.

Appeals have also been made to local public representatives to intervene and pressure the electricity department to resolve this issue before a major tragedy occurs. Residents emphasize that until a solution is found, they are forced to live under constant fear.
