In a brazen act, thieves targeted two government buildings in Unsar Panchayat, under Bochaha block of Muzaffarpur district, in a single night, challenging the local security arrangements. Unidentified thieves broke locks at Unsar High School and the Unsar Panchayat Bhawan. They made off with valuable electronic equipment from the school, while their attempt to steal from the panchayat building was foiled when villagers woke up.

Shweta Kumari, the acting headmistress of the school, stated that the security guard on duty at the school premises fell asleep after approximately 1 AM. Taking advantage of this, the thieves broke the main lock of the school and entered. They stole two inverters, two large batteries, and a valuable smart TV from a room. In the morning, when the school opened, staff were shocked to find the lock broken and the items missing.

After committing the theft at the school, the culprits also broke the lock of the nearby Unsar Panchayat Bhawan. However, the sound of their activity alerted nearby villagers, causing the thieves to flee the scene without stealing anything. Panchayat Secretary Dheeraj Kumar confirmed that the panchayat building's lock was broken, but all its contents remained safe.

Bochaha police have inspected the crime scene and initiated an investigation. Station Head Yashwant Kumar Mishra confirmed that an FIR has been registered, and efforts are underway to apprehend the thieves soon. The incident has raised concerns about security in the area.
