A high-level team conducted a thorough investigation late Friday evening into serious allegations against a revenue officer at the Bochahan Anchal office in Muzaffarpur district. Acting on the instructions of District Magistrate Kumar Gaurav, the three-member team, comprising the ADM, DCLR, and other relevant officials, visited the Anchal office. In the presence of the revenue officer, they meticulously examined mutation (dakhil-kharij) cases and other revenue-related tasks. The Anchal office gate was kept closed during the investigation.

The inquiry team is scheduled to submit its report to the District Magistrate on Saturday. Upon hearing about the investigation, dozens of complainants gathered outside the Anchal office until late evening to voice their grievances. Petitioners accused the revenue officer of arbitrary practices in mutation, wrongful mutations, and irregularities in other cases. Bochahan Block Head, Sajan Kumar Paswan, also met the investigation team, urging them to listen to the complaints of the gathered public.

The investigating team assured the complainants that their concerns would be heard before their departure. After the departmental inquiry concluded, ADM Sanjay Kumar listened to the petitioners' complaints late into the night. Anil Singh, a resident of Ramnagar, alleged an allegedly fraudulent mutation of 36 dismil land in Unsard panchayat. Ranjan Kumar from Baliya Indrajit also complained of fraud in a land-related matter. Devendra Sah of Parati accused the officer of reporting no possession despite his actual occupation of the land and of refusing work for not fulfilling monetary demands. Manju Devi from Pirakhpur complained that mutation was denied to the original deed holder but granted to a subsequent one. Dozens of others also lodged various complaints against the revenue officer with ADM Sanjay Kumar. After hearing all grievances, ADM Sanjay Kumar assured necessary investigation and action. He stated that this was a routine inquiry under the DM's directive, and the report would be sent to the District Magistrate soon.
