On Tuesday, students preparing for government jobs in Patna staged a strong protest, demanding the cancellation of the BPSC 70th and Sub-Inspector (SI) recruitment examinations, along with a fair investigation into alleged irregularities. Aspirants from various student organizations gathered at JP Golambar and blocked the road. Protesting students jammed the main road from JP Golambar to Ramgulam Chowk, causing significant inconvenience to vehicles and pedestrians on Ashok Rajpath and other major surrounding routes.

Upon receiving information about the road blockade, police forces and riot control squads arrived at the scene. Police officials attempted to pacify the students, but they remained firm on their demands. Students marching from Gandhi Maidan towards Raj Bhavan were stopped by the police near JP Golambar.

Protesting students alleged widespread irregularities in the SI recruitment examination for 1799 posts. They pointed out that while the Economic Offence Unit (EOU) is investigating the matter, the examination has not yet been cancelled. The aspirants stated that if an investigation is underway, the exam should be cancelled and re-conducted. Students also alleged a large-scale scam in the BPSC 70th examination and demanded its cancellation. Additionally, they called for the early announcement of the Bihar Staff Selection Commission (BSSC) Inter-level examination date and the release of an annual examination calendar for upcoming competitive exams. The students also demanded an end to the weightage given to contractual employees in government appointments.
