The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has commenced the application process for the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE 4) today, September 25, 2026. This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 32,388 teacher positions across various school levels in Bihar. Interested and eligible candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria, age limits, and other important details before applying.

According to the notification released by the commission on August 18, 2026, the recruitment covers primary, middle, secondary, and higher secondary schools. The highest number of vacancies, 16,101, are for classes 11 to 12. There are 8,563 positions for classes 6 to 8, 3,877 for classes 9 to 10, and 3,847 for classes 1 to 5.

The deadline for online applications is October 26, 2026, while the last date for fee payment is October 25, 2026. A non-refundable application fee of Rs 100 is applicable for all categories of candidates, payable via credit card, debit card, or net banking.

Age limits vary by post. The minimum age for teachers of classes 1 to 5 and 6 to 8 is 18 years, while for classes 9 to 10 and 11 to 12, it is 21 years. The maximum age for unreserved male candidates is 37 years, and for female candidates, it is 40 years. BC/EBC male and female candidates have a maximum age limit of 40 years, and SC/ST male and female candidates have a limit of 42 years.

Selected teachers will receive salaries based on their post and class level: Rs 25,000 per month for classes 1-5, Rs 28,000 for classes 6-8, Rs 31,000 for classes 9-10, and Rs 32,000 for classes 11-12. Educational qualifications also vary, including 10+2 with DElEd, graduation with BEd, or post-graduation with BEd. Candidates can apply online through the official BPSC website.
