The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has commenced the application process for the much-anticipated Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE) 4.0. This recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 32,388 teaching positions across various grades in Bihar. The application window opened on September 21 and will close on September 30, 2026.

BPSC had initially released the notification for TRE 4.0 in August, with applications slated to begin on September 1. However, following requests from candidates, the application process was postponed. It has now officially resumed from September 21.

Out of the total vacancies, the largest share, 16,101 positions, is designated for Senior Secondary (Classes 11 and 12) teachers. Other vacancies include 3,847 posts for Classes 1 to 5, 8,563 for Classes 6 to 8, and 3,877 for Classes 9 to 10.

To apply, candidates must visit the official BPSC website. They need to click on the TRE 4.0 or advertisement number 14/2026 link on the homepage, complete the registration process, and then log in to fill out the application form with personal and educational details. Required documents must be uploaded, and an application fee of Rs 100 must be paid online by September 29. It is crucial to review all details before final submission.

The examination pattern for BPSC TRE 4.0 has also been updated. Initially planned in two phases, it will now be conducted in a single phase following candidate feedback. The written examination will consist of 150 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for 150 marks, with a time limit of 2 hours and 30 minutes.
