A passenger bus carrying around 20 people overturned late Wednesday night in Aurangabad, Bihar, leaving approximately 20 passengers injured. The accident occurred around 1 AM on the Daltonganj route after crossing an overbridge. The bus was en route from Varanasi to Patna via Jharkhand.

The sudden overturning of the bus caused panic among the passengers, who started screaming. Locals, alerted by the noise, rushed to the scene and immediately began rescue operations. They helped extricate passengers trapped inside the bus and informed the police.

Most of the injured are reportedly residents of Aurangabad district. Three individuals, including the bus driver, are in serious condition and have been referred to Jamuhar Medical College for advanced treatment after receiving first aid at the Sadar Hospital. Among the injured are Maharana Singh, Seema Kumari, Bablu Kumar, Satya Kumar, and Belmati Devi from Baghoi village, as well as Vijay Tiwari from Bhairpur, Murtuza Ansari from Chhatarpur, and bus drivers Bablu Pandey and Pintoo Pandey.

According to local residents, there was a truck parked near the accident site, leading to speculation that the bus driver lost control after colliding with the truck, causing the bus to overturn. However, the police have not yet confirmed a collision with a truck. The truck driver and co-driver fled the scene after the accident and are currently being sought by the police.

Upon receiving information, City SHO Baban Baitha arrived at the scene with police forces. With the help of locals, he ensured the injured were transported to Sadar Hospital. Sadar Sub-Divisional Officer Gaurav Singh also visited the hospital, inquired about the condition of the injured, and instructed medical staff to provide the best possible treatment. Police state that the actual cause of the accident will be clear only after a complete investigation.
