Buxar district will launch an intensive public awareness campaign from October 27 to November 25 as part of the 'Nasha Mukt Bihar Abhiyan' (Drug-Free Bihar Campaign). The initiative aims to educate people in both urban and rural areas about the harmful effects of drug abuse. To ensure effective implementation, a review meeting was held on Monday in the Collectorate's meeting hall, chaired by the District Magistrate (DM). Officials from relevant departments were given necessary instructions.

The meeting informed that the statewide campaign will be inaugurated by the Deputy Chief Minister/Chief Minister on October 27 at Adhiveshan Bhawan in Patna. Following this, various activities will be conducted across Buxar district according to scheduled programs. The DM instructed that the campaign should be transformed into a 'people's movement' to ensure active participation from all sections of society.

Under the campaign, students and youth in schools and educational institutions will be sensitized about the physical, mental, and social damages caused by drug abuse. Awareness rallies, oath-taking ceremonies, and discussions will be organized. Public representatives, voluntary organizations, women, and youth will be involved at the panchayat, urban local body, and ward levels.

Directing the use of posters, banners, and other public relations media for publicity, the DM urged all officials to ensure timely execution of activities with mutual coordination. He emphasized that building a drug-free society is a collective responsibility of both the administration and every citizen.
