The Election Commission of India has announced the dates for by-elections to three assembly constituencies across Bihar, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh. Voting for these seats will take place on July 10, with the counting of votes scheduled for July 13. In Bihar, the by-election will be held for the Rupauli assembly seat in Purnia district. Additionally, Gujarat's Vaghodia and Madhya Pradesh's Amarwara constituencies will also go to polls.

The by-election for Bihar's Rupauli seat became necessary after its sitting MLA, Bima Bharti, resigned. Bharti had joined the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) before the recent Lok Sabha elections and contested from the Purnia Lok Sabha constituency on an RJD ticket, though she was unsuccessful. Her resignation created the vacancy, necessitating this by-election.
