Badaun, July 2, 2026: Chief Development Officer (CDO) Gamini Singla visited Usawan block in Badaun district today, where she held an important meeting with women from Self-Help Groups (SHGs). The primary objective of this meeting was to empower women and encourage them to avail benefits from various government schemes.

Addressing the women, CDO Singla emphasized that Self-Help Groups are a crucial medium for empowerment. She stressed that through these groups, women can not only become economically strong but also establish their identity at a social level. She provided detailed information about various government schemes such as the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM), Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, and Mudra Yojana, which can assist them in starting and successfully running their businesses.

Singla motivated women to engage in small-scale industries like handicrafts, tailoring, food processing, and organic farming. She highlighted the immense potential in these sectors and assured them that with hard work and dedication, women can achieve success. The CDO also pledged that the administration would provide all possible support to SHGs, including training, financial assistance, and market access. She urged women to be aware of their rights and to contact the administration for any issues.

Women present at the meeting listened enthusiastically to the CDO's address and shared their problems and suggestions. This initiative is a significant step towards empowering rural women and bringing them into the mainstream, enabling them to contribute actively to the country's economic development.
