Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary has for the first time openly addressed the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) defeat in the Bankipore assembly by-election. In an exclusive interview with ABP News Executive Editor Megha Prasad, CM Chaudhary stated that in a democracy, the public is the master, and their decisions are paramount.

Responding to claims by Lalu Yadav and Tejashwi Yadav that the loss was his personal defeat, the Chief Minister clarified that the 2025 mandate is entirely in favor of the NDA. He emphasized that the mandate was for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Nitish Kumar, and they are working as their allies to advance the state on the path of progress.

CM Chaudhary further added that despite the party's loss, they gave an opportunity to a party worker – their मंडल अध्यक्ष (Mandal President) contested the election. He affirmed that they would continue to give opportunities to party workers in the future and work towards their victory.

Commenting on Jan Suraj leader and Bankipore MLA Prashant Kishor, the Chief Minister made a significant statement, asserting that if even a single allegation against him is proven, he would retire from politics. He also made an emotional appeal to Bihari residents, urging them to return to their homeland and contribute to bringing back the state's golden era.

On the issue of liquor prohibition, he stated that the Bihar government would present an account of its work in 2030 and fulfill all promises made during the elections. He also highlighted that Bihar has always guided the nation and will continue to work on issues concerning the youth.
