Residents of Danapur staged a strong protest at the bus stand on Friday, led by the Diara Vikas Sangharsh Samiti. Villagers burnt effigies of local MLA and Minister Ramkripal Yadav, MP Misa Bharti, and MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, along with other public representatives. Protesters chanted slogans demanding development in the Diara region, construction of bridges, approach roads, and boulder pitching to prevent erosion by the Ganga river.

Varsha Kumari of the committee stated that even decades after independence, the Diara region of Danapur lacks basic facilities. The absence of proper transportation infrastructure causes significant hardship to the residents. She highlighted that the lack of a permanent bridge makes commuting difficult for people in Diara. Annually, the Ganga river's erosion causes substantial damage, yet adequate boulder pitching arrangements have not been made.

Representative Muskan Kumar Yadav demanded the construction of a permanent bridge from Sherpur to Dighwara and the extension of the approach road from the Digha-Sonepur Six-Lane Bridge to the Diara area. Protesters also called for the provision of hospitals, schools, drinking water pumps, and other essential facilities in Diara. They warned that if their issues are not resolved, the agitation would be intensified. A large number of committee workers and local villagers participated in the protest.
