In a significant operation in Darbhanga's Manigachi police station area, authorities seized over 774 liters of foreign liquor from a pickup truck. Police arrested the driver, Vivek Yadav, while the main liquor smuggler, Kapil Yadav, managed to escape. The estimated value of the seized liquor is approximately 15.50 lakh rupees.

The operation was conducted late in the evening near Chanour village under the leadership of Manigachi SHO Ranjit Kumar Singh. Police had received a tip-off that Kapil Yadav, a resident of Vidhipur village in the Bajitpur police station area, was transporting a large consignment of liquor. Acting on this information, police initiated vehicle checks on the main road. During the inspection, officers discovered rotten mangoes in crates on top of the pickup, beneath which bottles of foreign liquor were concealed.

According to the police, 998 bottles of 750 ml and 142 bottles of 180 ml foreign liquor were recovered from the vehicle, totaling 774.06 liters. Police stated that the main accused, Kapil Yadav, was not traveling with the pickup but was in a separate vehicle, guiding the driver via mobile phone. Upon sensing the police cordon, the driver attempted to flee by leaving the main road and taking rural routes through Bahuarba. After a continuous chase, police stopped the vehicle in Chanour village and apprehended the driver, Vivek Yadav, a resident of Bahuarba.

During interrogation, Vivek Yadav revealed that the liquor consignment was ordered by Kapil Yadav, the alleged liquor dealer from Vidhipur. Police are now conducting raids at potential hideouts to arrest Kapil Yadav.
