A tragic incident occurred on Friday in Sisouna village, Mahishaut Panchayat, under the Kusheshwarsthan East block of Darbhanga district, where a four-year-old boy drowned in floodwaters. The deceased has been identified as Dhrap Kumar, son of Rahul Mukhia.

According to reports, the child had followed his grandmother out of the house, who had gone to collect grass and was unaware of the child trailing her. A short distance away, the child accidentally fell into a canal filled with floodwaters. After a considerable time, some locals who were grazing cattle spotted the child in the water and pulled him out. However, it was too late, and the child had already passed away.

Upon receiving the information, Kusheshwarsthan Station House Officer Gaurav Prasad arrived at the scene with a police team. He stated that the child's body is being sent for post-mortem examination. Local residents reported that due to the ongoing floods, many roads and canals in the area are submerged, increasing the risk of such accidents. They urged parents to exercise extreme caution with young children to prevent similar incidents in the future.
