A case of land fraud and assault has emerged in Darbhanga's Kamtaul police station area. Akhilesh Kumar, a resident of Patori village under Moro police station, has filed an FIR against Mohd. Iftekhar Ahmed alias Sacchu Ahmed, a resident of Bahuara Buzurg village, at Kamtaul police station. It is alleged that Iftekhar dealt with Akhilesh for 6 kathas and 12 dhurs of land for Rs 26 lakh, but later registered the same land in someone else's name.

According to the FIR, the accused claimed ownership of a plot in Raghauli Madhopatti Mauza, located in Kamtaul police station and Keoti block, and negotiated a price of Rs 6 lakh 25 thousand per katha. On July 16, 2026, Akhilesh Kumar allegedly paid Rs 15 lakh in cash, a cheque of Rs 5 lakh, and Rs 6 lakh via bank transfer as an advance. A written agreement (Mahadanama) was also prepared on a Rs 1000 stamp paper. The land was supposed to be registered in the name of Akhilesh Kumar's aunt, Suchitra Suman, and a registration fee of Rs 96,580 was deposited on September 7.

However, on September 8, the accused did not appear at the registration office, and his mobile phone was switched off. On September 11, Akhilesh learned that the accused had registered the same land in the name of Vikas Kumar, a resident of Ajamnagar Alfganj under L.N.M.U. police station, on September 10. Following this, on the evening of September 15, Akhilesh, along with his acquaintances, went to the accused's house. There, the accused admitted to registering the land in another person's name but refused to return the money taken from Akhilesh.

Akhilesh has alleged that when he demanded his money back, the accused and three of his associates verbally abused and assaulted him. He also claims that a pistol was brandished, and he was threatened with his life. The case is being investigated by Saurabh Kumar, Additional Station House Officer of Kamtaul police station. The police are verifying the allegations made in the FIR and examining the related documents.
