A 34-year-old man, Sunil Ram, died under suspicious circumstances in Darbhanga district, leaving behind three young children. The incident occurred in Rasalpur Tola, under Sadwara Panchayat, Simri police station area. His wife, Amrita Devi, and mother-in-law, Meena Devi, allege that Sunil's death was caused by consuming poisonous liquor.

According to family members, Sunil had gone to drink alcohol at a local resident Nathuni's house. Shortly after returning, his health rapidly deteriorated, he felt restless, and passed away within a short time. Amrita Devi has accused Nathuni of providing the alcohol and demanded a fair investigation into the incident, along with strict action against those responsible.

Upon receiving the information, Simri Station House Officer Arvind Kumar and his team reached the spot, took the body into custody, and sent it to Darbhanga Medical College Hospital for post-mortem examination. Police are currently questioning people at the scene and in the vicinity as part of their investigation.

Kamtaul SDPO Shubhendra Kumar Suman stated that it would be premature to conclude that the death was due to poisonous liquor. He explained that typical symptoms of poisonous liquor, such as loss of eyesight or severe physical reactions, were not observed in the deceased. Furthermore, there have been no reports of other people falling ill in nearby villages. The SDPO added that if it were a case of poisonous liquor, more than one person would likely have been affected. The exact cause of death will only be revealed after the post-mortem report and medical examination. Police are investigating all angles, and further legal action will be taken based on the report.
