A theft of ₹1.42 lakh in cash has been reported from an online delivery center in the Birol police station area of Darbhanga. The incident occurred on August 27, and a complaint was filed at the Birol police station on August 30. Lalit Kumar, a resident of Morwara who operates a Meesho delivery center in Hanti, stated that he was sleeping in his office on the night of the incident. During this time, a young man entered the office through the grill and fled with ₹1.42 lakh in cash kept in different rooms. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras.

According to Lalit Kumar, approximately ₹80,000 was kept in one room and ₹62,000 in another. The thief went directly to the cash counter, leading to suspicions that he had prior knowledge of the money in the office. The victim has expressed suspicion over three individuals – Ashish Kumar Mahta, Raja Mahto, and Vipin Kumar Sahu – alleging their involvement in the theft. Kumar claims these individuals had previously threatened him multiple times.

Birol Station House Officer Chandramani confirmed that an application has been received, and an investigation is underway. An FIR will be registered after the preliminary inquiry. The police are using CCTV footage to identify the thief and have assured strict legal action against anyone found involved in the crime.
