Purnea/Dhamdaha. A state-level ceremony was organized at the Dhamdaha block headquarters to observe Martyrdom Day in memory of the 15 immortal martyrs of August 25, 1942. Building Construction Minister and local MLA Leshi Singh visited the martyr's memorial, paid floral tributes to the 15 martyrs, and inaugurated the main ceremony by lighting the lamp. On this occasion, families of martyrs and freedom fighters were honored, and land deeds (Vasgeet Parcha) were distributed among 35 landless families.

Before the main event, Minister Leshi Singh, accompanied by members of the Martyr Memorial Committee, arrived at the memorial site and paid homage to the 15 martyrs. Subsequently, Minister Leshi Singh and District Magistrate Anshul Kumar garlanded the memorial and unfurled the tricolor flag. The Minister stated that Dhamdaha is a land of bravery and sacrifice, where 15 immortal martyrs laid down their lives for the freedom of their motherland. Their sacrifice is a matter of pride not only for Dhamdaha but for the entire nation.

Minister Singh emphasized that people from all sections and communities of society united to fight the British rule during the freedom struggle. The shared participation of various groups in the sacrifice of these 15 martyrs symbolizes social unity and communal harmony. She stressed the responsibility of conveying the martyrs' sacrifices to the new generation.

The program commenced with a Prabhat Pheri (morning procession) by school students, who marched through the main streets with patriotic slogans, reaching the martyr memorial site. The main ceremony was then held at the sports ground. Minister Leshi Singh, District Magistrate Anshul Kumar, Dhamdaha SDO Anupam, Purnea ADM, Dhamdaha Nagar Parishad Chief Councilor Rani Devi, Deputy Chief Councilor Meena Kumari, and Block Chief Kendula Devi jointly lit the lamp. Families of freedom fighters from Dhamdaha and K. Nagar blocks were honored with shawls and mementos, an act that moved many to tears.

District Magistrate Anshul Kumar hailed Dhamdaha as a land of pride for all of Bihar, stating that the true tribute to these martyrs would be to convey their sacrifices to the new generation and build the India of their dreams. He assured the district administration's commitment to the welfare of martyr families. An interfaith prayer meeting was also organized at the martyr memorial site. The distribution of land deeds to 35 landless families on Martyrdom Day will help them build homes and avail government schemes.
