Heavy public outrage has erupted in Madhubani district's Babubarhi police station area, specifically in Balanser village, as no arrests have been made six days after the murder of Divesh Kumar Singh. On Thursday afternoon, hundreds of villagers, including women, men, and children, from Balanser village reached the Babubarhi police station and staged a strong protest against the police administration.

The protesting villagers leveled serious allegations against the police and demanded that security arrangements be ensured. They stated that Dial 112 was informed at the time of the incident, but the team did not arrive on time. Villagers also reported that suspicious individuals frequent the house of the main accused, Ved Prakash Raut, at night, making them feel unsafe. Demands were made for the immediate deployment of permanent police forces in the village to ensure the safety of the victim's family and the villagers. Additionally, appeals were made to detain and interrogate other suspicious relatives involved in the murder.

It is noteworthy that on Saturday, a violent clash occurred between two groups in Balanser village due to rivalry over a grocery store. In this incident, Divesh Kumar Singh, his brother Raja Kumar, and mother Dharamshila Devi were allegedly attacked by seven people, including Ved Prakash Raut. Seriously injured, Divesh succumbed to his injuries on Monday during treatment in Darbhanga.

During the protest at the police station, Satghara Panchayat head Nandkishore Yadav and Block Congress President Kaushal Kishore Pappu mediated. Station House Officer Rahul Kumar assured the villagers of the swift arrest of all named accused, action against other involved individuals, and complete protection for the victim's family, thereby pacifying the situation.
