Dr. Nitish Priyadarshi, a theatre artist from Sirsia Bazar, Parihar, Sitamarhi, has been awarded a PhD in Theatre Arts from the Music and Drama Department of Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU), Darbhanga. With this achievement, he has become the first theatre artist from Sitamarhi district to receive a doctorate in Theatre Arts.

Dr. Priyadarshi's research topic was "Architecture and Craft of Ancient Indian Theatre: A Study." His research, completed under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Lavanya Kirti Singh 'Kavya', involved an in-depth analysis of the structure, architecture, and craftsmanship of ancient Indian theatre.

Prior to this, Dr. Nitish Priyadarshi obtained an MPA degree from Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University and also qualified UGC-NET. For the past decade, he has been actively involved in theatre, folk drama, and cultural preservation. He has also been a recipient of the CCRT Younger Artist Scholarship from the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

On Tuesday, teachers, theatre artists, intellectuals, and social workers from the Parihar region congratulated Dr. Priyadarshi on his significant accomplishment and wished him a bright future. This marks a proud moment for him and for Sitamarhi district.
