बेतिया: बीआरए बिहार विश्वविद्यालय के स्नातक सत्र 2026-30 की तीसरी और चौथी मेरिट लिस्ट में कथित फर्जी कोटा के इस्तेमाल का मामला सामने आने के बाद विश्वविद्यालय प्रशासन हरकत में आ गया है। छात्र कल्याण अध्यक्ष ने एमजेके महाविद्यालय और राम लखन सिंह यादव (आरएलएसवाई) महाविद्यालय के प्राचार्यों से तीन दिन के भीतर विस्तृत रिपोर्ट मांगी है। विश्वविद्यालय ने कोटा के आधार पर हुए सभी नामांकनों के दस्तावेजों की जांच कराने का निर्देश दिया है।
विश्वविद्यालय के पत्र के अनुसार, दोनों महाविद्यालयों को प्राचार्य कोटा, दाता कोटा और स्टाफ कोटा के तहत हुए नामांकन से जुड़े दस्तावेजों की प्रमाणित तीन-तीन प्रतियां उपलब्ध करानी होंगी। इसके साथ संबंधित मूल दस्तावेज भी जांच के लिए प्रस्तुत करने होंगे। छात्र कल्याण अध्यक्ष ने स्पष्ट किया है कि सभी मूल अभिलेखों की जांच के बाद ही आगे की कार्रवाई की जाएगी।
विश्वविद्यालय प्रशासन ने यह भी स्पष्ट किया है कि जांच के दौरान यदि किसी छात्र का कोटा या उससे जुड़े दस्तावेज फर्जी पाए जाते हैं, तो संबंधित छात्र-छात्राओं का नामांकन रद्द कर दिया जाएगा। इस मामले को लेकर दोनों कॉलेजों में भी जांच प्रक्रिया शुरू कर दी गई है। आरएलएसवाई महाविद्यालय के प्राचार्य प्रो. (डॉ.) अभय कुमार ने बताया कि कुलपति के निर्देश पर जांच के लिए समिति गठित करने को कहा गया है। वहीं, एमजेके महाविद्यालय के प्राचार्य प्रो. (डॉ.) नवल किशोर बैठा ने बताया कि विश्वविद्यालय के निर्देश के बाद कॉलेज में दो सदस्यीय जांच समिति का गठन कर दिया गया है।
विश्वविद्यालय स्तर पर सामने आई जानकारी के अनुसार, चौथी मेरिट लिस्ट में 80 प्रतिशत से अधिक नाम कथित रूप से विशेष कोटा के माध्यम से शामिल किए जाने का मामला सामने आया है। आरोप है कि कुछ साइबर कैफे संचालकों और कथित छात्र नेताओं की मिलीभगत से एनसीसी, खेलकूद, कुलपति, प्राचार्य, वार्ड और दाता कोटा सहित अन्य विशेष कोटा का गलत इस्तेमाल कर मेरिट लिस्ट में नाम शामिल कराए गए। नामांकन के लिए पहुंचे कई विद्यार्थियों के पास संबंधित कोटा से जुड़े वैध प्रमाणपत्र नहीं मिलने की बात भी सामने आई है। हालांकि, इन आरोपों की पुष्टि विश्वविद्यालय की जांच के बाद ही होगी। अब सभी की नजर विश्वविद्यालय की जांच रिपोर्ट पर है। जांच पूरी होने के बाद दोषी पाए जाने वालों के खिलाफ नियमानुसार कार्रवाई की जाएगी और आवश्यक होने पर संबंधित नामांकन भी रद्द किए जाएंगे।
Bettiah: Following reports of alleged fraudulent use of quotas in the third and fourth merit lists for the 2026-30 undergraduate session of BRA Bihar University, the university administration has initiated action. The Dean of Students' Welfare has requested detailed reports within three days from the principals of MJK College and Ram Lakhan Singh Yadav (RLSY) College.
The university has instructed a thorough verification of all documents related to admissions made under various quotas. As per the university's letter, both colleges must provide three certified copies of documents pertaining to admissions made under the Principal's quota, donor quota, and staff quota. Original documents must also be presented for verification. The Dean of Students' Welfare stated that further action would be taken only after the verification of all original records.
The university administration has clarified that if any student's quota or related documents are found to be fake during the investigation, their admission will be cancelled. Investigation processes have already begun in both colleges. RLSY College Principal Prof. (Dr.) Abhay Kumar confirmed that a committee has been formed for the inquiry as per the Vice-Chancellor's directive. MJK College Principal Prof. (Dr.) Naval Kishore Baitha also stated that a two-member investigation committee has been constituted in the college following university instructions.
Information at the university level suggests that over 80% of the names in the fourth merit list were allegedly included through special quotas. It is alleged that some cyber cafe operators and supposed student leaders colluded to misuse NCC, sports, Vice-Chancellor, Principal, ward, and donor quotas to get names included in the merit list. Several students who arrived for admission were reportedly found without valid certificates for the respective quotas. However, these allegations will only be confirmed after the university's investigation. All eyes are now on the university's inquiry report. After the investigation, action will be taken against those found guilty, and admissions will be cancelled if necessary.
